Our aim is to represent the interests of all those treating Orthopaedic Trauma in the UK and to become a forum for the advancement of Orthopaedic Trauma surgery and a focus for research, training and education.
Tim Chesser is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at North Bristol. He is presently Chair of the BOA Trauma Group and sits of the Board for the Falls and Fragility Audit Programme (which runs the National Hip Fracture Database). He is a committee member of the new Orthopaedic Trauma Society, and sits on the Clinical Guidelines Group for the NICE Hip Fracture Guidelines and Quality Standards.
Charlotte trained in Wessex, worked in Malawi and did her trauma fellowship in Nottingham. In 2012 she was appointed as consultant and trauma lead to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. She is currently trauma lead for the Wessex Trauma Network
Her main clinical interests are the management of upper and lower limb trauma including complex fractures and non unions. She teaches on AO, ATLS, cadaveric and trauma-related courses.
The OTS is an inclusive body representing the interests of all those treating Orthopaedic Trauma. As of September 2017 we have 170 members. There are two categories of membership are available:
Consultant Membership (£50)
Full membership is open to consultant orthopaedic surgeons with an interest in orthopaedic trauma surgery, research and education.
Associate Membership (£50)
Associate membership is open to surgeons of all other grades, as well as nursing and other paramedical staff, with an interest in orthopaedic trauma surgery, research and education.
